The Story Behind ShortSermons.net
It was a cold winter evening, December 27, 2005, to be exact. I was sitting in my office typing up some new sermon ideas while I was still all holly and jolly from the Christmas season, when the phone rang.
As suspected, it was Jane, one of our most cheerful parishoners. She had been talking to Father Brown, a good friend of hers from California, who gave her a few ideas. He had been having good luck by shortening his sermons to the point that they no longer bored people, but still provided some meaning.
I thought that was a great idea, and always being up for a challenge, decided to cut out the fluff from my sermons!
And the sermons you can find on this site are what I ended up with! Take a look and see if I did a good job!
